Week 2 of Februllage just concluded, and for this week I wanted to experiment with documenting the process of working in multiples.
February is the best time of the year for mixed media collage artists: It’s Februllage! In this video, I take you through a studio vlog entry of my process of working on 4 mixed media collage pieces from start to finish. These pieces are part of a larger collage series inspired by, or taken directly from the backyard food forest.
Most of my collages use a combination of printmaking techniques in gelliplate printing, and recently lino cut and block printing. I also combine hand drawing and monoprint techniques with my stash of vintage ephemera and book illustrations that i have been collecting over the years.
This is my first foray in exploring longer video format content focused on my artistic process. I’m curious to see if you enjoyed it, and I’m more curious to hear about what you’re working on in your studio right now! Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments!
