Fall is Coming: A Newsletter

Greetings fellow creatives!

Fall is in the air and August is coming to a close. I welcome the breezy fall days incoming. Meg checking in from Studio 2 with an almost-fall Newsletter!

Workshop Highlights

We’ve had a fun filled summer meeting new friends and old, sharing creative space, and learning new mixed media arts practices and techniques at locations all around the Quad Cities and Chicagoland area! Enjoy a few arts workshop highlights from Not Your Average Collage Class and Experimental Printmaking.

Celebrations: CGDH Zine Publication

‘Migration’ is making another publicized debut in issue #8 of Cary Grant Died Here titled ‘DOG DAYS’. You can scoop up a copy of this zine for free around the city, Rozztox, or online.

Physical Prints are available in my shop <3

Surprise! We’re at The Botanical Center!

It’s the perfect planty collab. For the month of September, my artwork will be on display and for sale at the Rock Island Botanical Center! If you find yourself admiring the flora, breeze through the gift shop for a little browse. Museum and botanical center gift shops are the best.

September Events

Speaking of September, lets talk about the September Events! We’re excited to revisit Skeleton Key and Kavanaugh’s Hilltop for an outdoor market! After that we’ll be taking a lil’ breather, (I mean maybe, I am still booking) or at least going where the wind takes us for the rest of September in preparation for an exceptionally busy October!

October Workshop Drop!

Which brings us to our last little treat in today’s newsletter, Studio 2’s next workshop drop! Newsletter subscribers are the first to get access for workshop tickets, so snag them while they’re hot! Join us this October at The Artery for Spooky Linoprint Carving!

About the Class:

Join artist Meg Hollister in learning the traditional art of linoleum block carving with a spooky twist. Participants will design and hand-carve their own Halloween-themed printing block, then use their creation to print custom designs on a take-home bandana!

Not feeling the Halloween theme? That’s cool, we aren’t trying to tell you what to do. If you have a different idea in mind, Meg will help you bring you vision to life!

What makes this special: Participants leave with TWO unique handmade items—their personally carved linoleum block stamp and a custom-printed bandana featuring their design.

Until we meet again!

You have everything you need for your art. Show up for your craft. <3

Cheers xo,

Meg
