The weather is warming and boy am I excited. I don’t know about you, but my mind is buzzing with future spring project dreamin’s: garden planting, art making, and finding time with pals.

SO it’s for that reason that we’re going to keep it short today: Studio 2 Makings has a few new workshop offerings, and they arrive first to our newsletter subscribers. Thanks for being here!

June 13th: Victorian Paper Engineering: DIY Tunnel Books

Class Description:

In this 90-minute workshop, you’ll learn the basics of Victorian paper engineering and use collage elements to build a miniature layered scene that’s entirely your own. No art experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to play. You’ll leave with a finished piece and a technique you’ll want to use again.

June 24th: Victorian Paper Engineering: DIY Tunnel Books- Young Adults

July 25th: Botanical Gel Printing- Adults 2-3:30pm

Class Description:

Gel plate printing is a meditative, endlessly surprising printmaking technique rooted in layering — ink, texture, and botanical forms building on one another to create something you couldn’t have planned. In this 90-minute workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of gel plate printing using native and seasonal plants as your tools and textures. No printmaking experience needed. Every print that comes off the plate is entirely your own!

Spots Still Open for Lego Printmaking and 3D Modelling: Make and Take a Plant Pot!

This is a sliding scale class and we are so excited to offer this option thanks to Quad City Arts! Light refreshments and a fun feature cocktail will be provided, but BYOB to keep the creativity flowing! I’m so excited to keep this format rolling in the future.
