MMM: Experimental Printmaking August 20

Registration for our next workshop is open!

Join eco-artist Meg Hollister in learning to experimental printmaking techniques in an interactive, collaborative environment!

Creatives will learn 5 different printmaking techniques through hands-on demonstration and practice, then create their own unique pieces to take home. This class is for all levels of creators: no experience necessary!

You’ll leave with THREE items (and any stamps you create) , 2 of your favorite printed pieces on archival mixed media paper, AND a tote bag available for you to custom print!

Participants are also encouraged to bring one small item to print make and take as well. Examples: a t shirt, bandana, or zippered bag. (I find that cotton prints best for these, but feel free to bring any item that is not too dear to you if you would like to experiment!)

This is workshop is movement involved! Create art with others, practice flexible thinking, and learn to bring your physical environment into your art via found object integration (we will be texture hunting at the brewery!) , rotational art stations, and creative collaboration.

Techniques covered:
1. Gelliplate Printing
2. Foam Stamp Carving
3. “Texture Hunting” : Printing Found textures with play-doh
4. Printing with objects: Fruits and Veggies
5. Creating Cardboard Stamps

When: Wednesday, August 20, 6-8pm

Where: Bent River ROCK ISLAND: 512 24th St, Rock Island, IL 61201
